What Is Hemoglobin?

Hemoglobin is a protein found red blood cells. It gives blood its red color, and its job is to carry oxygen throughout your body.

What  are the normal hemoglobin values?

Normal hemoglobin values are related to the person's age and sex.Normal values may very slightly between test systems. and which groups of doctors have determind normal values for their group of patient. However, the value ranges are close (carry by about o.s g/dl) for almost every group an example of normal, ranges that is widely accepted by family practice physicians is as follows.

Birth;13.5 to 24.0 g?dl(mean 16.5 g/dl)

Children

➤Ageく1 mouth: 10.0 to 20.0 g/dl(mean 13.9 g/dl)

➤Age 1-2 mouths:10.0 to 18.0 g/dl(mean 11.3 g/dl )

➤Age 2-6 mouths: 9.0 to 14.0 g/dl(mean 12.6 g/dl)

➤Age 0.5 to 2 years : 10.5 to 13.5 g/dl(mean 12.0 g/dl)

➤Age 2 to 6 years: 11.5 to 13.5 g/dl(mean 12.5 g/dl)

➤Age 6 to 12 years :11.5 to 15.5 g/dl(mean 13.5 g/dl)

Female

             ➤Age 12 to 18 years 12.0 to 16.0 g/dl(mean 14.0 g/dl)

             ➤Age〉18 years 12.1 to 15.1 g/dl(mean14.0 g/dl)

Male

              ➤Age 12 to 18 years 13.0 to 16.0 g/dl(mean 14.0 g/dl)

               ➤Age 〉18 years 13.6 to 17.7 g/dl(mean 15.5 g/dl)

What are the symptoms of low hemoglobin?

Low hb is also known as anemia, which means that you don't have enough red blood cells  in your body.with anemia,a blood test will also show that you have a low res blood cell  count and may have low hematocrit, the volume of red blood cells to other components in your blood.

Anemia can have many causes,so symptoms can vary widely. common anemia symptoms can include:

• exhaustion

•skin paleness

•shortness of breath

•abnormal or rapid heartbeat

•pain in your chest

•cold,swollen hands or feet

•headache

•trouble with physical activity

What Causes high hemoglobin levels?

high hemoglobin levels generally accompany high red blood cells, so the higher your red blood cell count, the higher your hemoglobin level and vice versa.

A high red blood cell count and hemoglobin level can indicate several  thing, including.

•Congenital heart disease.
This condition can make it hard for your heart to effectively pump blood and deliver oxygen throughout your body.In response, your body sometimes produce addtional red blood cells.
additional red blood cells.
•Kidney tumors.
some kidney tumors stimulate your kidney to make excess erythropoietin,a hormone that stimulates red blood cell production.
•Luug disease
•polycythemia vera
•Dehydration

Risk factors

you may also be more likely to have high hemoglobin levels if you.

•have a family history of disorders that affect red blood cell count, such as altered oxygen sensing .
•live at a high altitude
•recently received a blood transfusion
•smoking
