Skinny jeans have become increasingly popular over the last few years. And unlike their baggy and boxy  counterparts, skinny jeans hug every curve of your body and are tight around your hips, buttocks, crotch, legs, calves, and ankles, And while skinny jeans may be your go _ to, you should be aware of the fact that when you put them on, you're actually putting yourself in harm's way. To begin with, the sheer tightness of skinny jeans can cause numbness and tingling in your legs, and their tautness around your waist has even been linked to acid reflux. They are typically urged to wear looser undergarments when they and their partner are trying to conceive, says general prectitoner Dr Sarah Jarvis, because high temperatures are thought to have a negative effect on sperm production.

Other health infections

People with urinary tract infections are advised to avoid skinny jeans. Tight trousers have also been blamed for exacerbating heartburn by putting pressure on the abdomen, which in turn pushes stomach acid upwards- although jarvis says this tends to be more of an issue when waists are cut unfashionably high.

People should be aware there's a small risk, Jarvis - if you go to the gym and forget your  tracksuit bottoms, it's best not exercise in tight-fitting denims. But this is common sense. "l'm not going  to going to give up my skinny jeans," She says.
